Management credential exposure via autocomplete-enabled password field
Published Feb 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Credential exposure in Cisco Linksys E4200 firmware 1.0.05 Build 7 allows attackers to recover a saved management password via browser autocomplete. The web administration login page leaves autocomplete enabled on its password field, permitting the browser to retain the router credential. Exploitation requires the administrator to save the password and the attacker to access the resulting browser credential store; the bounded consequence is disclosure of that management password.
