Browser script execution via unsanitized CGI parameters
Published Feb 18, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Cisco Linksys E4200 firmware 1.0.05 build 7 allows remote attackers to inject script through CGI requests. The apply.cgi and storage/apply.cgi handlers place seven request parameters into generated pages without neutralizing executable HTML or JavaScript. A victim must follow a crafted request; the injected code then runs in the victim's browser under the router management interface's origin, allowing browser-visible data to be read or altered.
