Access-control bypass via flawed username string filtering
Published Jan 30, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Access-control bypass in Drupal Login Security 6.x-1.x before 6.x-1.3 and 7.x-1.x before 7.x-1.3 allows remote attackers to evade restrictions. The login-form validation path applies string filtering to a crafted username incorrectly, causing the module to skip every Login Security check. Exploitation is remote and unauthenticated, but requires soft blocking to be disabled; successful use bypasses configured login-form access controls.
