Unauthenticated command execution via query-string eval
Published Jan 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
OS command injection in D-Link IP camera firmware allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through the web interface. The /var/www/cgi-bin/rtpd.cgi script replaces ampersands in the raw query string with spaces and passes the result directly to shell eval. No authentication is required, so any network-reachable affected camera accepts a crafted request that executes commands on the device.
