Command execution via unsanitized NTP server value
Published Jan 24, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
OS command injection in Vivotek PT7135 firmware 0300a and 0400a allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through the web interface. In farseer.out, the system.ntp value is appended to the /usr/sbin/psntpdate command string and passed to system without shell-metacharacter filtering. Firmware 0300a exposes the path before authentication, while firmware 0400a requires an authenticated web session; successful exploitation runs commands with the camera service's privileges.
