Unauthenticated code execution via out-of-bounds array write
Published Jan 23, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Buffer overflow in SAP NetWeaver Message Server 2004s, 7.01 SR1, 7.02 SP06, and 7.30 SP04 allows remote attackers to execute code. The _MsJ2EE_AddStatistics function uses the attacker-controlled MSJ2EE_HEADER serviceid field as an unchecked index into the 256-element j2ee_stat_services array, enabling out-of-bounds writes. No authentication is required; crafted Message Server packets sent to TCP ports 36NN or 39NN can corrupt process memory, execute code with service-account privileges, or crash the service.
