CVE-2013-1202Network attack vector

Denial of service via unrotated SSL logs

Published Feb 7, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Denial of service in Cisco Application Control Engine A2(3.6) allows remote attackers to exhaust disk space through excessive SSL connections. The SSL logging daemon fails to rotate session logs, so repeated SSL connections retain logs until the hard drive has no free space. The attack requires network reachability to the SSL service; exhaustion prevents configuration and disk writes and produces console errors.
