Authenticated command execution via unsanitized ping_size
Published Aug 1, 2025 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
OS command injection in Linksys WRT160N v2 firmware 2.0.03 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary shell commands. The apply.cgi diagnostic handler inserts the ping_size parameter into a shell command without validation, so metacharacters invoke additional commands. Access to the password-protected web utility is required, and injected commands run with router privileges without returning output.
