CVE-2013-10057Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary code execution via ConnectToSynactis stack overwrite

Published Aug 1, 2025 · Updated Apr 7, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in Synactis PDF In-The-Box allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a malicious webpage. The PDF_IN_1.ocx ConnectToSynactis method copies an overlong string into the ldCmdLine buffer with strcpy, overwriting a saved TRegistry pointer. Exploitation requires a user to load attacker-controlled HTML that instantiates the ActiveX control, and successful code runs with that user's privileges.
