Authenticated command execution via unescaped htpasswd username
Published Aug 1, 2025 · Updated May 15, 2026
OS command injection in ZPanel 10.0.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through the htpasswd module. ExecuteCreateHTA concatenates inHTUsername and inHTPassword into an htpasswd command without shell escaping before passing it to system(). Any valid default-group account can inject shell metacharacters, and resulting commands run with the web server process's privileges.
