Unauthenticated command execution via timeZone injection
Published Aug 1, 2025 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
OS command injection in RaidSonic IB-NAS5220 and IB-NAS4220 devices allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands without authentication. The unauthenticated timeHandler.cgi POST handler embeds backtick-delimited content from the timeZone parameter in a shell command without neutralization. Successful requests execute with device-level privileges; public exploits demonstrate root-shell access but modify inetd and the password file.
