Unauthenticated code execution via restore SQL injection
Published Jul 31, 2025 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
SQL injection in Kimai 0.9.2.x allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL through the db_restore.php dates[] parameter. The recovery handler incorporates the unvalidated dates[] value into a database query, allowing UNION SELECT and INTO OUTFILE clauses. Writing and executing a PHP payload requires local MySQL, display_errors enabled, and database-user write access to the web-accessible temporary directory.
