Authenticated code execution via blacklisted extension bypass
Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in GetSimple CMS 3.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code through the administrative upload endpoint. The admin/upload.php handler relies on extension and MIME-type blacklists, so a crafted .pht payload reaches data/uploads within the web root. An account permitted to manage files can request the uploaded payload and execute code with the web server process's access.
