Database query manipulation via unbound login parameters
Published Jan 17, 2023 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
SQL injection in Bricco Authenticator Plugin before 1.39 allows remote attackers to manipulate database queries through login input. DBAuthenticator.Query executes SQL text through Statement.executeQuery without binding the supplied username and password; the patch uses PreparedStatement.setString for both values. Exposure requires DBAuthenticator to be configured for a publication and LoginAction to be reachable, allowing crafted login input to affect the configured user database.
