CVE-2013-0507Network attack vector

Session hijacking via unchanged post-authentication identifier

Published Feb 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Session fixation in IBM InfoSphere Information Server 8.1, 8.5, 8.7, and 9.1 allows remote attackers to hijack user sessions. The application keeps the same session identifier after successful authentication instead of issuing a new identifier. An attacker who fixes an identifier before a regular user signs in can reuse that authenticated session to obtain the user's application access; version 9.1 is affected only with WebSphere Application Server 7.0.
