Unauthenticated path disclosure via gallery API serialization
Published Jan 30, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Path disclosure in Imagely NextGEN Gallery 1.9.10 and 1.9.11 allows remote attackers to read server filesystem paths via API requests. The public gallery and recent API methods serialize internal path values into XML or JSON responses instead of removing them. No authentication or user interaction is required, and exposure does not depend on PHP display_errors; the response reveals directory layout but not file contents or modification access.
