Arbitrary file read via log path traversal
Published Jan 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Path traversal in Polycom HDX Video End Points before 3.0.4 and UC APL before 2.7.1.J allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files. The a_getlog.cgi log-download handler uses the untrusted name parameter as a file path without blocking parent-directory sequences. No authentication or user interaction is required; a crafted name containing .. escapes the intended log directory and exposes files readable by the web process.
