Browser script execution via unsanitized acct parameter
Published Jan 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Reflected XSS in cPanel WebHost Manager 11.34.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser via a crafted acct value. The /webmail/x3/mail/clientconf.html page places the acct query parameter into generated output without neutralizing executable markup. A logged-in user must open the crafted request; the script then runs in the WHM origin and can read or alter data available to that browser session.
