CVE-2012-6277Network attack vector

Code execution via crafted file parsing

Published Feb 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Memory corruption in HPE IDOL KeyView before 10.16 allows remote attackers to execute code or crash applications via crafted files. The affected file parsers mishandle attacker-controlled input during document decoding and corrupt memory; finer implementation details are undisclosed. Exploitation requires a host application to process the file; user interaction depends on that application's workflow, and code runs with its privileges.
