Unauthenticated local file read via unchecked app parameter
Published Jan 23, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Local file inclusion in BabyGekko before 1.2.4 allows remote attackers to read server-local files through a crafted app parameter. The index.php entry point fails to reject directory-traversal sequences and a null byte in the app parameter before using the value for a PHP file include. No authentication is required to read a local file; PHP code execution additionally requires an attacker-controlled PHP file already present and executable under the server configuration.
