CVE-2012-4863Network attack vector

Queue-manager interruption via large-message buffer overflow

Published Jan 23, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Denial of service in IBM WebSphere MQ 7.1 and 7.5 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt a queue manager with large messages. The queue manager accumulates a sequence of large queued messages until an internal buffer overflows instead of rejecting further data. The attack requires permission to put messages on a queue and interrupts messaging without exposing or changing message data.
