Policy decryption and modification via logged private key
Published Jan 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Improper privilege management in Safend Data Protector Agent 3.4.5586.9772 allows local users to decrypt and alter endpoint policies. The logs.9972/securitylayer.log file records private-key data that low-privileged users can read and use to decrypt protected policy communications. Local access to the affected endpoint is required; exploitation exposes policy contents and permits changes to the controls applied on that machine.
