Remote code execution via AMF memcpy heap corruption
Published Jan 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Code execution in EzServer 7.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service via crafted AMF requests. The RTMP AMF parser takes a size value from the request and passes it unchecked to memcpy, copying beyond the supplied buffer and corrupting heap memory. A completed RTMP handshake is required, but no authentication is needed; malformed requests reliably crash the service, while code execution remains a possible consequence.
