Browser script execution via unsanitized category name
Published Feb 8, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Chamilo LMS before 1.8.8.6 allows remote attackers to inject script through a crafted Dropbox category name. In main/dropbox/index.php, the addsentcategory action incorporates the category_name parameter into generated content without neutralizing executable HTML or script. A user must load the resulting content for the injected code to run in that user's browser context, enabling page-content changes and browser-accessible data exposure.
