Arbitrary registry modification via exposed ActiveX methods
Published Jan 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Improper access control in Samsung Kies before 2.5.0.12094_27_11 allows remote attackers to modify the Windows registry. The CmdAgentLib ICommandAgent interface in CmdAgent.dll exposes registry-key and value creation, update, and deletion methods to untrusted web content. A victim must load crafted content in an ActiveX-capable Internet Explorer context; changes run with the current user's registry privileges.
