Browser crash via zero-valued ActiveX argument
Published Jan 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in Samsung Kies before 2.5.0.12094_27_11 allows remote attackers to crash Internet Explorer via crafted HTML. The GetDataTable method in the DCAPARAGONGM ActiveX control accepts a zero tagDATATABLE_SUID value and dereferences the resulting null pointer. A user must open the crafted page and activate its VBScript control, after which the browser terminates; no broader system impact is established.
