Cross-site scripting via incompletely sanitized player parameters
Published Feb 20, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Cross-site scripting in LongTail Video JW Player 5.10.2295 and earlier allows remote attackers to run script via crafted player parameters. The Flash player incompletely sanitizes link, logo.link, and aboutlink values and nested javascript, asfunction, or vbscript URI scheme names before using them in trusted-site content. Exploitation requires a victim to follow a specially crafted link, after which attacker-controlled script executes in the victim's browser under the embedding site's context.
