Authenticated PHP code execution via like.php inclusion
Published Jan 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Local file inclusion in Invision Power Board before 3.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code through a crafted key parameter. The like.php _unsubscribe function base64-decodes key, passes its unchecked area field into bootstrap(), and ultimately supplies the path to require_once. Exploitation requires a valid forum account, a locally available PHP payload, and PHP before 5.3.4 for the documented null-byte technique; it grants PHP-level code execution or file disclosure.
