Cross-site scripting via xss_clean filter bypass

Cross-site scripting in EllisLab CodeIgniter 2.1.2 allows remote attackers to inject browser-executed script via crafted input. The Security Library xss_clean() method returns crafted malicious input without neutralizing script-capable markup; public records do not identify the exact matching defect. Exploitation requires an application to filter attacker-controlled data with xss_clean(), render the result in a page, and have another user load that page; script then runs in that user's browser context.
