Unauthenticated code execution via unrestricted banner upload
Published Aug 11, 2025 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in Auxilium RateMyPet allows remote attackers to execute code by submitting a PHP file to the banner uploader. The unauthenticated admin/sitebanners/upload_banners.php endpoint accepts the file without type validation and stores it under web-accessible /banners/. Directly requesting the uploaded script executes it with the web server account, allowing compromise within that account's permissions.
