Authenticated command execution via unsanitized host parameter
Published Aug 5, 2025 · Updated May 15, 2026
Command injection in Nagios XI Graph Explorer before 1.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute system commands through visApi.php. The endpoint incorporates the unsanitized host parameter into a shell command, so backtick-delimited input runs the enclosed payload. A valid Nagios XI session is required, and commands execute with the web application's Unix account privileges.
