CVE-2012-10028Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unsanitized authent_process

Published Aug 5, 2025 · Updated May 15, 2026

OS command injection in NetWin SurgeFTP 23c8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute system commands through the web console. The surgeftpmgr.cgi handler accepts the authent_process POST field and stores it as an external authentication command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Administrative console credentials are required, after which injected Windows or Unix shell commands run on the underlying server.
