Settings modification via missing nonce validation
Published May 30, 2023 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in BestWebSoft's Twitter 2.14 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify plugin settings via forged requests. The twttr_settings_page function in twitter.php accepted request parameters and passed them to update_option without validating an administrative nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to submit an attacker-controlled request, and the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized alteration of the plugin's stored URL and position settings.
