CVE-2012-10014Network attack vector

Reflected XSS via unescaped language request parameter

Published Apr 24, 2023 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Reflected XSS in Kau-Boy Backend Localization 2.0 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts via a crafted language request. The backend_localization_get_locale path applies a custom character filter to the kau-boys_backend_localization_language request value instead of HTML-escaping it before generated output. Exploitation requires authenticated access and interaction with the crafted request; script execution remains within the affected user's browser and WordPress site origin.
