Reflected script execution via unsanitized language parameter
Published Apr 24, 2023 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Reflected XSS in Kau-Boy Backend Localization 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a language parameter. In backend_localization.php, the plugin reuses the request's language value in generated administration links without sanitizing or escaping it. Successful exploitation requires another user to follow a crafted link, after which attacker-supplied script runs in that user's WordPress browser context.
