Email credential disclosure via exported settings files
Published Mar 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 7, 2024
Information disclosure in Lexmark X, W, T, E, and C laser devices allows remote attackers to read stored email-delivery passwords. The settings-export function places the full authentication password configured for outbound email into the generated settings file without redaction. Unauthenticated network access to request an export, or access to a previously exported file, is sufficient to recover the device's email credentials.
