Database backup disclosure via missing authentication
Published Jan 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 7, 2024
Missing authentication in WebsiteBaker CMS 2.8.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to download complete database backups. The core backup module accepts direct remote requests and returns database backup content without checking for an authenticated backend session. No account or user interaction is required; exposed backups disclose site data and password hashes that enable administrative takeover after cracking.
