Script execution via unescaped search term
Published Jan 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Reflected XSS in Jara 1.6 allows remote attackers to execute script in a visitor's browser through a crafted search request. The search.php endpoint places the term query parameter into the returned page without neutralizing script markup. Exploitation requires a visitor to open the crafted URL; the script then runs in the Jara origin and can read or alter data exposed to that origin.
