Browser script execution via unsanitized parameters
Published Feb 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Mambo CMS 4.6.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser through crafted URLs. Frontend task and backend menu, menutype, zorder, search, client, and section parameters enter HTML contexts without adequate sanitization. Execution requires a user to open the URL and occurs immediately for an existing session or after login, exposing data and actions available to that browser session.
