Controller command execution via replayed engineering traffic
Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Oct 14, 2025
Capture-replay in Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 CPU firmware before 2.0.2 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute recorded commands. The controller accepts previously captured engineering-software traffic as fresh commands without verifying message freshness or password state. The attacker must first intercept legitimate engineering traffic; replay can alter process control or set the controller to STOP.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
