Browser script execution via unsanitized p parameter

Cross-site scripting in Vanilla Forums 2.0.17.1 through 2.0.17.5 allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted p parameter. The index.php request path inserts the p query-string value into the returned page without sanitizing its HTML and script metacharacters. Exploitation requires a victim to open the crafted URL, after which the script runs in the forum origin and can read or alter browser-accessible forum data.
