Authenticated browser script execution via unescaped xiwindow
Published Oct 30, 2025 · Updated Oct 30, 2025
Reflected XSS in Nagios XI before 2011R1.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser via a crafted URL. The /nagiosxi/account/ page copies the xiwindow query value into permalink iframe markup without output encoding, so injected closing tags escape the frame and create executable script elements. Exploitation requires a low-privileged session and a victim to open the crafted link; the script then runs with that victim's Nagios XI browser privileges.
