Authenticated code execution via FTP path traversal
Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated May 15, 2026
Path traversal in QuickShare File Server 1.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to read or write files outside the FTP virtual directory. Its FTP path handler accepts ../ sequences in RETR or STOR paths without confining the resolved path to the account's virtual directory. Writable FTP access, enabled by default for new accounts, permits placement in Windows system directories and execution through MOF processing.
