Unauthenticated file upload via directly callable endpoint
Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Craig Edmunds Recip.ly 1.1.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to write files via uploadImage.php. Direct requests execute the uploader outside WordPress; it trusts client-supplied filenames and MIME types and calls move_uploaded_file without enforcing validation errors. Unauthenticated network access to the endpoint is sufficient to place an attacker-chosen file in the plugin's images directory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
