CVE-2011-0764Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Code execution via unchecked path-point dereference

Published Mar 31, 2011 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Invalid pointer dereference in t1lib 5.1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted Type 1 font. The Type 1 path-building routines RLineTo, RRCurveTo, and FlxProc index the ppoints array without first ensuring that it exists and contains the required prior points. A user must open a PDF containing the font; resulting code runs with that user's privileges, while malformed input can instead crash the linked application.
