Local-link service crash via malformed mDNS validation

Input validation failure in Apple Bonjour before 2011 allows remote attackers on the local network to crash the service with a crafted mDNS packet. The Bonjour Namespace Provider inadequately validates malformed multicast DNS packets, allowing its error-handling path to terminate the service unexpectedly. The sender must share the target's local network segment, and the documented consequence is loss of Bonjour service rather than a host crash or data compromise.
