Directory Manager password disclosure via audit logging

Cleartext password logging in 389 Directory Server and HP-UX Directory Server allows local users to read the Directory Manager password. During a cn=config modification, op_shared_modify passes the unencrypted nsslapd-rootpw value into the enabled audit log instead of hashing it before log generation. Exposure requires audit logging, a Directory Manager password change, and access to the audit file, which defaults to mode 0600 inside a mode 0770 directory.
