CVE-2010-20123Public exploit

Code execution via oversized M3U playlist

Published Aug 21, 2025 · Updated May 15, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in Steinberg myMP3 Player 3.0.0.67 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted M3U file. The playlist parser copies oversized input into a fixed stack buffer, permitting direct return-address overwrite at byte 1024 or SEH overwrite at byte 1040. A user must open the malicious playlist, after which attacker-supplied code runs in the application user's context.
