Arbitrary code execution via automatic Maplet commands
Published Aug 21, 2025 · Updated May 15, 2026
Code injection in the Maplet framework in Maplesoft Maple 13 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted .maplet file. Opening a Maplet treats embedded Maple commands as executable content despite worksheet security restrictions, permitting file writes and system command execution. A victim must open the malicious file; the commands then execute with the victim user's privileges.
