Code execution via overlong Unicode playlist entry
Published Aug 20, 2025 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
Stack buffer overflow in r2 Studios Xion Audio Player 1.0.126 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to execute code via a crafted M3U file. The .m3u/.m3u8 playlist parser places an overlong Unicode string in a stack buffer and overwrites a Structured Exception Handler record. Execution requires a user to open or play the malicious playlist, and resulting code runs with the user's application privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
